I use these to order chipotle pickup, which is same price through uber eats. Basically nets me free guac.
Then pick it up yourself, save the fees and spare us the whining.
True, but without this you pay more, that's the whole point. Not everyone can go out to restaurants based on weather and commute availability.

Can buy now and price match and buy again in 14 during promo period to get the deal twice

I can confirm it only works once per membership. If you do a price adjustment and then try to add to cart, the checkout price won't include the $5 off.

I'll be taking an Uber on the 30th so this is timed perfectly for me. I do Uber Eats occassionally, but they are usually a rip-off, at least for the restaurants near me. Most of the stores charge $4 or 5 more per item so at best, when they have 40% off coupons I might break even. Might use it for the Chipotle hack mentioned above though.

Previously in my area, Uber was about 10% lower than Lyft on average. Since using these gift cards consistently over the last year or so, this has flipped. Uber's prices have increased and are easily only average 10% more than Lyft. I do wonder if this is part of a general strategy, or if they target people using gift cards with worse rates. The change has not been subtle.

Can you stack these with an AmEx gold or platinum monthly credit? I read somewhere to use those credits you need to pay with an AmEx card. Any experience?

I do this all the time. $10 applied automatically when I apply Uber credit for the entire payment. You have to just add Amex Gold to the Uber wallet.

Someone mentioned above that Chipotle doesn't charge extra for Uber Eats and can get free guac out of it.

IMO I would avoid Uber.

Like others I saw increased prices after adding gift cards for rides and when using Uber eats gift cards you have no recourse when Uber messes up your order. I did this deal last time and they failed to deliver my order. After complaining to their customer service (terrible send a message and wait for maybe a response days later) I was told they only would offer a few bucks back instead of refunding the order. There is no phone number to call, no live chat, no human you can reach. They blame drivers and the restaurants instead of fixing any real issues.

If I had placed this order with a credit card I could have disputed the charge, but since it was a gift card Uber just kept my money.
