Based on some short research, this seems to be a product Anker didn't deliver on promises such as multi-color print like with Bambu and have stopped supporting it. It still has unresolved software bugs and some unresolved hardware issues. They haven't said it, but it seems pretty clear they're done trying to be the next Bambu and are exiting 3d printing, also why it's not sold new anymore and replacement parts are about non-existent. Completely ignore the $800 MSRP and look elsewhere for a 3d printer.

Dang it I was about to pull the trigger on this because the build quality looked really good and the hardware looked solid... Then I read your post and now im like meh probably saving me $200, this was going to be my first foray into 3-D printing.

Anyone else on here have any experience with this 3-D printer?

I haven't used this one specifically, but I've used plenty of others from all the big brands. If you want to print things and have them come out nice with a minimum amount of fuss, get a Bambu. If you want to do the same, but spend twice as much, get a Prusa. If you want to spend your time screwing with 3D printers trying to make them work, get anything else.

If you do get a Bambu, get it in a combo with the multi color kit (AMS or AMS Lite depending on model), because you're going to want it eventually and it's $100 cheaper than buying them separately.

Caveat that Bambu recently pushed some firmware as a security measure that stops third party software from talking directly to their printers, you have to go through a separate program they provide (for free). Many people are very salty about this. If you just want to get into printing, it won't matter to you.

So anyone who wants a real 3d printer, do NOT get this
I had it for 6 months and finally got rid of it and got the more expensive bambu x1c
The anker m5 seems like a 2005 3d printer versus every other multicolor printer outer
I would recommend spending the extra money and get one with an enclosure and multicolor ams printing system for more money

It's nice, but an X1C is literally 5x price. A better comparison to the device in the deal would be an A1 ($319 $469 combo) or or A1 mini ($199 $349 combo), both of which are really solid printers too.

Thanks guys for all the feed back but going from $200 to $1500 is not really in the ball park for me when im looking into a new toy to mess around with. There are a few projects I think this would be useful for, for me, but not sure I would keep using it so was trying to get a large surface area to play with that had leveling and everything else most people would want.

Really surprised Anker failed this badly on a product they usually make solid items.

Possible, but who knows when they can't keep promises when it comes to their 3d printers.

I have one of these and its truly sad Anker just appears to have given up on supporting 3D Printing. I really liked their silk Black filament, but I dont even think you can get that anymore.
Its insane that at one point they thought this was worth $800 dollars. At its MSRP its not even close to being comparable to the P1S. Shoot with the sale at Bambu, you could get the P1S with AMS combo for what Anker tried to once sell this for.
I believe I got my Anker for $350ish on one of there sales. Having had it and used it when I have, I dont think its worth it even at that price, new, not refurbished.
About 6 months later, I bought a X1C and since that time, the Anker just sits unless I need to print 2 things at once, or if I want to print something without a lot of detail.
Rather than get this and potentially never be able to get parts or support, save up a bit and get an Bambu A1 or something like that.
If you dont care about that, and just want to tinker, sure.

While I agree that the Anker 3D printer is not a good deal, everyone recommends X1c; it's like, don't get this Kia. Get a top-of-the-line Beamer.
If you really want to get into 3D printing on the cheap, get the A1 from BL. X1C while a fantastic printer, is overkill for 90% of new users.

Definitely don't get the Anker one. Depending on your budget. I would invest $600 to future proof your needs. If you spend something like $200 then later on as you get better and use it more...then you will need to buy a better one.
I got the Bambu A1 ASM one for $500. I would of gotten the anycubic Kobra S1 if I known about it when I purchased the Bambu one.

Enclosures gives you more options to print out different materials. The different colors will spend up printing because it'll change the colors automatically or else you will need to change it by hand. Single color can take you something like 100 hours to do a multi color print versus multi-color printer can take something like 5 hours to complete. Single color you have to keep changing it out. That 100 hours can take weeks to complete if you are not actively changing the colors out.
