It'll only get cheaper. This will go lower than copies of the last Mass Effect flop.

Not a big fan of DragonAge in general, but I have a $5 January GameStop Pro coupon thats about to expire and I hear it has a decent PS5 Pro patch ? Can anyone comment if its worth the 20 bucks or is this prime example of consumer marketing fooling me to "spend $20" to not let the $5 go to waste ?

It'll drop more - the backlash for this game is pretty bad

The game definitely has its flaws, but it got way too much hate imo.

I think a lot of it has to do with the way the moderazis on the Steam forums handled any kind of criticism. They were (maybe still are) just banning people left and right for expressing any level of criticism of the game. It's like the lesson Eidos learned with their Deus Ex reboot kerfuffle has been forgotten. For those who may have also forgotten, when the game got panned by some reviewers, Eidos pulled all their advertising on those sites in retaliation, creating an impression of them expecting favorable reviews in exchange for advertising money.

And of course Valve just sits back and refuses to do anything about it, despite the fact that they own the platform where it's happening and it's reflecting badly upon them as well. Now it's spread to other forums, like Stardew Valley of all games.

Edit: OK, after doing a little searching, seems maybe I'm getting some details mixed up. Looks like it was Kane & Lynch's developer IO Interactive who pressured GameSpot (or probably more properly CBS) to fire an editor for giving the game a bad review. Seems Sony also allegedly threatened the same thing over the Ratchet and Clank reboot according to the fired editor. Sadly the supporting links seem to be dead, but the one below still works.

Could have sworn there was something about Eidos and Deus Ex, but considering this all happened 20ish-years ago I suppose it's not unreasonable to expect some details get mixed up. Anyway, moral of the story still stands. The industry is pressuring game review sites behind the scenes on big budget games and BioWare seems to have taken the next logical (mis)step and extended its retaliation policy to paying customers. So, everyone still excited for the next Mass Effect game knowing all this?

Reminder that this will be on Game Pass by the end of the year. If you've waited a few months, might be worth waiting another few months, playing the game, then picking up the edition that has all the DLC two years from now for $10.

Found it pre owned in my GameStop, used 5 dollar monthly coupon and had to use a GameStop giftcard up before they close shop. Ended up being 16 bucks. Couldn't pass it up for that.

Didn't know that happened - interesting! Human Revolution was fantastic, Mankind Divided was definitely a step back but still enjoyable.
