Yeah but I wouldn't count on the fecal recognition. I tried it with a very fresh sample and I still had to enter my passcode. Ymmv.

I own this (for about a year). It works. Issues are: Memory is to low for any games. Runs games fine, just runs out of steam. Touchscreen is ok, but not that good. For gmail, kindle, facebook, it is good. A color kindle basically. Battery is fine

Seems like a good deal if I just want to use it as a photo frame, instead of spending more than double on something like Aura? Or will the Google Photos API debacle in March make it painful to use as a photo frame?

Purchased this last time they had a sale. Using it with T-Mobile $10 dollar hotspot sim. Works great for my kiddo no complaints so far. Better than the Firetab we had.

I''m not sure I had to call them to add it to my plan. Mentioned 30gb basic mobile hotspot plan and they hooked me up. That was a while back though so I'm not sure.

This device makes a perfect photo frame for a non-tech-savvy end user that doesn't have (or want) broadband.

I use the free version of DAKboard on Via browser to show photos stored on Onedrive with some nominal calendar and weather (from DAK) info in the foreground.

I use DAK rather than Google Photos because Google Photos already won't rotate through photos more than once on its own and in March will lose its integration with most other software (so that's completely out) and I use Via browser because it's the only browser I've found that can go true full-screen (kiosk mode) after Android 12.

All of this is fed by T-Mobile's $10/month hotspot SIM https://slickdeals.net/f/17923848-30gb-t-mobile-internet-byod-hotspot-10-mo-after-autopay necessary to update calendar, weather, and any photo or screen message updates (not sure if that' plan is still available).

I use Boot Apps for Android then to first load Anydesk and then Via in full screen mode with DAK already running so it boots directly into kiosk mode with Anydesk running in the background so I can troubleshoot remotely if the need arises.

Couldn't be happier with the outcome.
