Reviews on it are pretty bad. Doesn't seem like an incredible deal given people say it doesn't hold ice anywhere near even a full day
with ice. or maybe a large freezer with the coolers lid open. this is if you want the most performance and intend to use it for a long excursion. or else if you wanna just keep drinks cold or a few hours, use a bucket or cheapo cooler.
i wonder if they have ever used a cooler like this before and are they even pre-chilling the cooler before use.

Reviews are good all over the net honestly. The Costco negative reviews must be outliers IMO.

I think it's impossible that you put a bag of ice into this thing and it doesn't last at least a couple days.

The Costco reviews include two people saying it didn't hold things more than 12 hours and everyone else moreso commenting on the price or bulkiness.

Only two performance related complaints isn't that big of a deal if you can find more feedback online that's positive.

Only holds 16 cans? Am I supposed to buy three of these so I have enough beer storage for breakfast, lunch, and dinner??

I have had an Orca 20 for around 10 years. It has worked fantastically. I also have a few other size Orca coolers:

Orca 140qt (my transport dead fish from the coast cooler)
Orca 75qt - Camping cooler
Orca 58qt - I have too many coolers cooler
Orca 40qt - Boat cooler

I also have had a few other roto molded coolers along with soft coolers. Yeti 45 and 35, Grizzly 75. Polar bear H20 48 and 24, yeti flip 18 and 12.

I usually run mine with 5lb ice blocks made by artic ice. I have had no issues with this lasting more than a day as long as you use a good amount of ice a precool. Keep in mind you are still going to be burning a lot of ice so a roto molded cooler of this size isn't as useful.

For this size cooler I am also much more likely to grab a soft cooler like the flip 18 but I do love having a hard cooler for things where there may be dripping something not sanitary (when I pickup fajita meat from the Mexican market for example).

I've had this exact cooler for 8 years or so and it keeps ice for days easily. My guess is that the reviews were written by idiots that don't know how to use the cooler. Too little ice, not filling it up fully with ice, opening and closing it constantly, putting drinks or food in warm, not pre-chilling it, etc etc. You do that to any cooler and yes it won't perform at that well. Orca is one of the better rotomolded coolers out there especially given that it's made in Tennessee.

Have you had any experience with the Walmart Liftetime coolers someone else mentioned?
