I played this game when it first came out. It was a bear then and probably still is. I played it for a very long time and enjoyed it a lot. Old paper and pencil way to make a map while playing a game.

Man, some of my favorite early gaming times were spent on the original. Will have to check this out and see if it is super-grindy like the OG.

The remake is super-grindy and exceptionally difficult.

The new studio just put a shiny graphics engine over the original game engine. So, it's the same game you remember, and I highly recommend it.

The identify-9 hack apparently broke the game when they tried to put it in. Instead, you'll have to play Wizardry the hard way. Remember to back up your game often and have a secondary party to recover the bodies and items of the characters you will lose.

There's a real thrill in this kind of constant danger. I've beaten this game dozens of times, yet there are still some enemies that can party-wipe me. There's never really a time when you're invincible. It's definitely the old school difficulty that fell out of favor over the years.

This game is a -steal- at less than $20. I bought it on Steam and XBox when it was full price.

Thanks for the info! One of my favorite things to do was going back into the dungeon to recover fallen party members, hoping to not repeat their fate. Very stressful, challenging, and fun!
