This has been offered for the same price in the last few days at Amazon and NewEgg. Deal goes on, then off. Inventory is low, so shipping is weeks out. Interesting how the sale price at all sites is $89.99, and the non-sale price at all sites is $114.99. It is currently the higher price on the WD site.

WD externals do not have SATA ports so if anything happens to the enclosure IO or the port, you're screwed. Had it happen to me once. Never again.
I believe Seagates still use SATA drives in their externals. If the parts on those fail, you can always just shuck it and buy another enclosure.

Except that Seagate has the highest rate of drive failures of any major manufacturer.
