Powerstack is a higher current capable pouch type cell but it's still 20V. Flexvolt can be usable at 60V or 20V but still uses slightly lower current capable cylindrical cells. The fact that there are more cells in parallel in a Flexvolt pack when used at 20V does mean it has comparable high current capability like the Powerstack. Ultimately the advantage of Powerstack is that it's going to be much smaller and lighter than the Flexvolt packs.
I can't pull the trigger on DeWalt batteries from
Amazon. Too many reports of counterfeits.
I mean... I was working in my garage the other day and needed to set a tool on my car. I was glad that it not only wouldn't scratch the paint but also wouldn't slide due to the clean rubber on clean painted surface.
You can really justify nearly any change imaginable to be positive or negative. I'm def a fan of the non hard plastic bottoms!

Finally a deal good enough to thumbs up on the big powerstack! I think this one is better than 5ah cylindrical pack but not good enough for the regular price of around $100. I can get down with just over $15/ah.

Do we typically show savings as price vs "highest price ever?" This averages $83, not $229.

I need someone to speak some common sense to me. I have no "need" for this, but I really want to pull the trigger.

It's sold by the DeWalt store. Does that make a difference or not really?

Like the technology hate the rubber bottom on these batteries. If you are used to sliding your tools around, you can't with these. Why they decided to do this when every other Dewalt battery doesn't have this is beyond me. Another "brilliant engineering" idea.
I really don't mind it when I'm frequently on top of a pitched metal roof with tools. Sliding is not the greatest there. XD

It's shipped and sold by Amazon. I'm always wary.

Not for me. I have read about them getting mixed together in warehouses, etc. Just not willing to risk it. I'd wait for a deal from HD or Lowe's or the DeWalt website itself.

Agreed. Amazon co-mingles their inventory, regardless of seller, making it not worth the risk. Also, Dewalt, Milwaukee and other popular tool brands don't usually allow resellers to set prices lower than their approved sales.

Right now at Home Depot it's $99
https://www.homedepot.com/p/DEWAL.../319702237

Same at Lowes:
https://www.lowes.com/pd/DEWALT-P...5014034665

Which means the "sale" price is $99 so anyone selling for cheaper, especially at $79.95, raises concern.

Just used it to take apart a playground with my impact driver. I also have the 5ah "old" kind. The powerstack lasts longer and removes screws faster. I wish I could justify another one.
