I can't tell if this is a price mistake or the wrong item was advertised. Usually the model with the SKP handheld microphone transmitter costs $250 more. I guess I'll find out when it gets shipped.

The funny thing is I was legit looking up reviews on this item when the deal alert popped up. It's only for the certain frequency range . I kinda wish it included the handheld too.

ENG is for Electronic News Gathering. So this is mainly for filmmakers, documentarians or YouTuber types who want prosumer level wireless audio. The difference between this unit vs cheaper units like a Rode or DJI 2.4ghz wireless sets is that it will have less interference.

You can connect a body pack to mount a lavalier to a person or you can use the SKP plug transmitter to turn a handheld XLR microphone into a wireless one.

This is one of those buy once, cry once kind of things. One of the nice differences is that these things use regular AA batteries (or Li-ion compatible packs), but the other Rode or DJI models have internal batteries that are difficult to replace and are designed to fail in a few years of regular use. Kind of like Airpods.

These are also designed to take a beating for people who are rough with their equipment. Since they operate on UHF frequencies, they can operate through walls or people more easily whereas the 2.4ghz models can cut out if the onscreen talent turns their body around and is out of line of sight to the receiver.

I just received the unit today. It does indeed come with the SKP XLR plugin transmitter. Basically this is slightly over the price of a sale unit of the receiver and ME2 body pack transmitter alone, but you get a free SKP XLR unit.
Compared to my old Sennheiser G3 unit, this feels cheaper. The G3's are built like a tank.
I'll have to charge it and test it out to see how I like using it.
