Chaps has been been in rapid decline since partnering with Walmart. Spend the extra bucks on IZOD instead.

That's true but I've bought a few of their fleece from there for $10. Can;t go wrong with that when you can get like 3 or 4 for the price of one.

Ralph Lauren transitioned the Chaps brand to a licensed business model in 2021. This allows Ralph Lauren to focus on its core brands while Chaps is nurtured by an experienced partner.

Not a surprise. It's just any garbage with the logo put on it.

Who cares. These looks minimalistic with no obvious logos and can be layered. In for 4. TU OP

It seems that Chaps and IZOD, once considered archrivals in the mass-market preppy space, have been diverging in their marketing strategies, with Chaps moving more downmarket and IZOD moving upmarket. Chaps has partnered with Walmart, while IZOD seems to be focusing more on its core retailers (Amazon, JCPenney, Kohl's, Belk) and prioritizing quality and sustainability over affordability under its current ownership by Authentic Brands Group and its licensing partner Centric Brands.

Also note that the Walmart Chaps line isn't the same as the one sold at Belk or Boscov's. The Walmart line is made specifically for Walmart and is likely lower quality than the department store line.

The boxed quarter- zip chaps fleece (came out with the Christmas stuff) are $7 at all three of my local stores. The hanging chaps winter sweaters had some full and quarter zip styles go to $1-3 in store. I regret spending $3 on them though. The sweaters aren't wind resistant, they're not cozy, they're not long enough to be active in, and they don't have pockets. The fleece are slightly nicer, but only because they're slightly warmer & more pleasant on the skin
