Logitech needs to bring back the Logitech K800 (but a more durable version).

It was the best keyboard ever made.

I have two Logitech MK850's that I'm quite fond of - wondering if worth it to gamble on a refurb/open box from Woot in general though.. anyone have experience with the site and feel strongly one way or the other on how risky it is? Interwebs seem split on if Woot is legit or a nightmare if what you get doesn't work right

As an Amazon company it's definitely legit. Seems like a 2nd or 3rd tier for clearance stuff. Think Nordstrom Rack or Last Call. No experience with returns but of my few purchases they tend to take a while to ship. One, a pair of Brooks shoes took like a month, no notification that it shipped, it just showed up one day. Shoes were perfect new condition though and at a great price so in the end it was worth it.

Amazon has the MK850 as a 2024 model and also a 2017. Wonder which one Woot is selling.

Spot on. I have been using mine daily since 2013 and while it devours batteries, I love this keyboard.

MK850 is my daily driver, one in the office and one at home. One unifying receiver on my mobile laptop, two PCs connected each time. Went with these and an HDMI switch instead of KVMs which always seem to last about 6 months. This setup has been rock solid for me. Getting one for another location in the house. Hope the New - Open box is really that.

I've been using the 800 for years also. I've never changed batteries. The batteries are rechargeable. There is a little USB port on the front (not the top).

I got an mk850 set from them last time it was $40 for refurb. I have another mk850 set so I quickly realized the reason is the keys are way stickier on the refurb. Some get stuck for half a sec before getting up and it disturbs my typing. The mouse had no issues though. Tried wd40 on it and solved my problem temporarily.

Have MK850 for both home and office. I haven't had any issues with refurb I purchased from woot. Both sets I have are cosmetically decent and work as intended. Here is a tip: Be careful when switching the keyboard between computers. Sometimes I end up editing a few rows in the wrong spreadsheet :-p

I think it depends on how you customize the backlight settings. Mine was going through the rechargeable battery relatively quickly until I adjusted those settings. Not a huge deal as I can just plug it in while I used it, but I bought it because it's wireless Smilie

I miss their wireless MediaPlay mouse. Basically acted like a remote for whatever media you're playing (dedicated button for launching the media player of your choice, play/pause button, skip/ff and repeat/rw buttons, etc), which comes in handy because I'll often fall asleep to videos or music on the comp. My last one finally died and it has sucked getting used to a "regular" mouse after well over a decade of having the MediaPlay. Wish they'd bring back a modern version of it with the tiny bluetooth receivers instead of the gigantic ones Logitech used on their older wireless products.

I have been patiently waiting for a good deal on the MK710 keyboard/mouse set. Used that at work for several years and really liked it. I can't believe how long batteries would last in both devices. Almost left me wondering if the battery life indicator was accurate. But I don't know that $50 for a refurbished one (they retail for $80, but go on sale for around $70) is a great deal.

FYI, I bought a new/open box Logitech M705 Marathon Wireless Mouse from the last sale and was sent a used mouse with scuffs on it. Woot was good about giving me a refund though. The mouse was sent from a refurbisher called TechRabbit.
