Doesn't say anywhere that this unit is refurbished, so I'm assuming it's new.

so basically requries an external battery or ac power source? the listing is kinda vague.

Basically. Without battery would need power source (either AC or plugged into a battery) or solar.

From the link:

"Please note that WAVE 2 does not have a built-in battery and requires battery (Add-on Battery or DELTA series) or AC power connected to operate in its optimal performance."

I just bought one of these directly from Ecoflow for $599 - $29.95 discount code. I opened a case with their customer support tonight to see if they will credit the difference to me. Thanks for posting this!
I took delivery on Tuesday. I'm looking forward to using it while camping.

This unit isn't really that strong. I had one, used for car camping and tent camping, it was very inefficient. I returned it and the battery. You might be better off with a portable AC and a bluetti/ecoflow power station. Just my 2 cents. (Might only be worth that too!) 😀

Contemplated using this for a small ~150sq ft room as an alternative to a window unit and space heater. Then you have the flexibility to use in a power outage or camping. But I wondered about the efficiency of it..

Around 300watts with the battery it lasts about 3ish hours cooling.

Needs to be a small space. I use it in a cessna to keep the cabin cooler when on the ground.

Underpowered for that tbh, its a great concept I really researched it a ton and between it being very limited cooling and the drainage issues I ultimately didn't buy it

Have one... paid $800. This a great deal. It has limitations on strength and burns through batteries. Ecoflow customer service is non existent, you'll be on your own after purchase.

Thoughts on this for a camper van instead of a fixed roof mounted ac? Took a quick glance and a roof mount provides about 8 hours on 480ah

We use ours on a camper van... it all depends on outside air. Less than 40 degrees it drains battery quick. Above 90 degrees, it drains battery quick.

It price is unbeatable though.
