Probably less people buying expensive-ass paint given the plummeting economy.

Employee said she hasn't seen 50% (or BOGO) off all paints in years. This is a great deal.

Need a bit of help here! I need to paint all rooms inside a house that hasn't been painted in 25 years because the person living there cannot deal with the smell or fumes because of respiratory problems it may cause. Can anyone point me to a paint which addresses these problems? I would just like to help this person have a nice house, without harming her while trying to help her.
There is a difference between smell and fumes. As the others have said, Non VOC paints are good, you can always use some vanilla/lavender etc to cover the smell.

If it hasn't been painted in 25 years, that is a long time. You are going to need to clean (maybe patch and sand) those walls before applying any coating whether it is behr, SW, or the lowes brand.

Microwave popcorn.

That's what I used to use when we had a contractor painting in our facility. Nuke a bag, open it up in the area and you are golden. The popcorn smell covers up the mild paint smell of low VOC paints..

If you burn the popcorn it really works.

I've used Pittsburgh paint from Menards for interior and switched to behr for the deck. Hasn't disappointed me yet. I would like to hear other views.

Just painted 2 bedrooms with SW Cashmere as a humble DIYer. Easily the best paint I have ever worked with...previously painted our Condo a couple years ago with Behr and the SW did a lot better. The Cashmere paint was easier to apply evenly and did not splatter as much. Those rooms look simply amazing.
If you go in to the SW stores their employees are usually VERY helpful and know their stuff. She gave us lots of tips to help it turn out wonderful and did not try to oversell us to Emerald or high level paints. We had picked out a color that was from a Lowes brand which SW didn't have anything like it in their samples. So she took the sample we had, looked up the codes and made it for us. We have 2 more rooms to paint so we will probably pick up a few cans and add the tint later.

Is rain refresh included in this promotion? Is it normally stocked?

Any thoughts on Cashmere vs Emerald... Emerald priced slightly higher. Also, thoughts on flat/eggshell/satin.. does it matter with SW paint lines?

That depends on what you are painting and what the goal is.

Cashmere would work in a low traffic area without a lot of humidity. It is scrubbable so might be OK in a bedroom even a child's.

Emerald has anti-microbial agents and is very durable. Good for any high traffic area and high humidity like bathrooms.

Emerald is far more versatile and just the best paint period. If only getting a few gallons or less, the price difference is negligible, less than $20 per gallon.

Finish depends again on goal.

Flat is considered good at hiding imperfections where satin will show them more, however you can't really wash flat as it will come right off where you can scrub satin.

I would never use flat in a bathroom. I like satin for all rooms.

Thank you to all that commented on a paint to use for someone with respiratory issues! I think I will be able to help her and not flare up her respiratory problems. I did not know there was such a thing as low and non voc paints.

I've used SW SuperPaint, Duration and Emerald. All of them are very similar but on sale for a few extra dollars I have preferred Emerald. It's not thick and goes on smooth and has great coverage. Done right two coats is the max you'll need. I've used Behr before and some of their product lines are too thick and difficult to roll. This consumes more paint and sometimes takes more than two coats for the right coverage. If you're painting a lot of space and budget is a concern, SuperPaint is the lowest grade I would use. As a DIYer painting is labor intensive. Prep and roller is important. I use Purdy 3/4" Colossus Roller Cover. I switched to a 18" roller and it cuts down on how long it takes to roll a wall in half. Yes, at $20 a roller it's expensive but the finish paired with good paint is super smooth. For walls I like matte finish. It hides imperfections enough and can be lightly cleaned. Eggshell and above finish is fine for baths and kitchen but nail pops and creases on your walls will show.

Or the fact they run these promotions on a cycle. Was around 12 -18 months ago they ran this exact sale. Bought 6 gallons then.

I don't know if Behr vs. SW is really all that noticeable anymore, especially with their higher-end paint. Though you'll still rarely catch a contractor using paint outside of SW because time is a big factor for a pro painter and time is money. SW paint dries significantly faster (1-4hrs). Behr has a reputation for drying slow (4+ hrs, sometimes 8 hrs before a recoat). As a DIY'r time isn't as critical to me and can rotate my planned work vs being charged by the hour or worse force a redo of your paint job for messing it up and recoating too soon. They make more money the faster they can work, and you also probably pay them a premium to move fast and be done in a day. SW offers better coverage but I almost always prime before painting anyway, another thing pros love skipping if they can, without trading off quality. SW is hands down better for pros, but the premium they need and pay for may not be the same things you want to pay for, just something to keep in mind.
Wrong. Contractors do save time with SW but nothing to do with dry times. Data page for WB paint is always 4+ hours for recoat. Anyone painting a second coat in one hour will have some serious issues. The reason you think behr takes so long to dry is because it's cheap and thick and designed for DIY and it's applied way too thick. Pros never use behr and it's because of coverage issues. May be cheaper but when you use 30 to 50 % more, savings are gone. There's a reason why pros buy paint from paint retailers and not big box stores. Someone made a comment about behr deck stains and those are fine because if you live in a cold weather state, you'll get two or three years tops in a WB deck stain no matter how good it is.
