reviews look good, but i'd try to get the camera with the solar kit, otherwise you are signing up for the hassle of charging the battery. Right now the camera plus solar kit is $44 on amazon
https://www.amazon.com/Tapo-Solar...B0D52NZN6Q

Tapo/Kasa sometimes has 25% cash back on amazon cc. This camera has that promotion right now. so $45 - 25% cash back = $33.75 for camera plus solar kit. $14 more than this deal.

the camera + solar station is probably the better buy for a lot of people
I have the C402 and C425, both on small Tapo solar panels. Battery power depends on settings, but my C402 has always been >80%, even on cloudy days. The C425 seems to be at 100% every time I check. Plus, NO SUBSCRIPTION NEEDED! Vehicle and people detection is fantastic and weed out random movements very effectively. There's also lots of customization available with the software and the connection is very stable on both. The C425 is about 200' away from the house and did drop occasionally, until I moved one of my mesh antennas. Now it consistently outperforms the dogs in notifying me of vehicles coming down the driveway. W/ 2k, the C425 obviously has better resolution, but just checked footage & I can zoom in to read a license plate with the C402 on a car parked about 40' away.

The Tapo battery included costs more than this alone. Good deal for spare Tapo batteries. Basically got an extra camera for free.

if you want to read license plates or capture faces you need to invest in 4K

everything else is a toy

I have 2K and still wish for 4K most times
It doesn't have hdmi either. /s

Good deal! I have the ones with the magnet base and use them here in Colombia. Never have any issues. I use Eufy in the states but both brands serve me well. Grabbing 3

This is just for the camera, correct?

Can you buy the solar kit separately?

If you invest into ubiquiti setup, maybe, but it's a few hundred $ on the low end.

I have the 2k version of this both battery & wired. You won't be reading license plates or seeing faces well past 15 ft. 180 days isn't happening either unless you use the lowest resolution & weakest motion settings. Expect charging it once every 2-3 months
