This mower's MSRP (according to the original price placard at the store) is $899, but it has been on sale/reduced to $749 for a while now. But, for some reason, only some stores have this marked as clearance for either $419, $450, or $539. I have been watching it for a while, waiting for the snow to break to see how low it will go. For my stores it was at $559 for a couple of months, just dropped to $539 a couple of weeks ago. With the %10 off coupons floating around, or if you have military discount like me, then the price is $486. Less if you are luck enough to have one of the lower reported clearance prices.

This is Ryobi's top of the line mower from their 40V push mower series, and comes with 2 batteries that sell for $219 each. Here is a review: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=68wBcoWqgzs

Looking forward to trying this bad boy out, it is my first electric. I also got one of the Honda mowers from the recent deal posted here, the hydrostatic 200 series engine one that is Hondas top of the line. I feel a shootout coming .

Here is a previous thread with a lot of replies from others who have used this mower: https://slickdeals.net/f/16663823-ryobi-40v-hp-whisper-series-21-lawn-mower-17-string-trimmer-3x-6-0ah-batteries-799-free-shipping?v=1

In order to find stores that have this clearance price:

1) Go to the product page: https://www.homedepot.com/p/RYOBI.../317845502
2) find the "Store Pickup" box on the right of the page, to the left of the "Delivery" selection box.
3) Right above the "Store Pickup" box, it will say "Available at: ", where the store name is a hyperlink. Select that store name hyperlink, and you should be presented with a slide out "Select a store" menu on the right side of the page.with a list of stores in your area.
4) Look for any in the list that say "On Clearance In Store". Note the store(s) with that description and note the store name/number. Exit this menu.
5) Back on the main page, on the very top left of the page, the the right of the home depot logo, click the hyperlink for the store name which is currently set as your home store. Use the "find another store" search box to search for the store you found in step 4, and select "Shop this store", and the menu should exit.
6) Once back on the mower page, below the price of $749 on the top right, you should now see a hyperlink that says "See In-Store Clearance Price", and selecting that should confirm that the price is $450 at the store you picked.
7) You cannot order for pickup or have it shipped for this price, you will have to go and get one. No idea why, it's goofy imho, but w/e.

I think with spring being close HD is dropping prices on this stuff to make room for new inventory.

Just a heads up my HD was at $539 and today was at $450. I was able to show my receipt and they returned it and re rung it up at the lower price, even applied the 10% off coupon again!

Happened to be picking up the 40v log splitter and checked the price, slick indeed!

Just picked up one for $419 at the Campbell, CA store. They had two.

Great deal. The two batteries make the deal worth it.

I picked one up at $450 in Central Mass. Consumer reports also rates this model pretty well.

Anyone know if the 10% off coupon (bought from ebay or elsewhere) work on this item since it is a clearance priced item? Anyone used it? (I'm not talking about the military discount). Thanks!

Purchased 2 days ago. Already has had one battery fail. They were manufactured 4 years ago. Went through their customer service line to get it replaced. It was pretty painless and they picked up the phone call on the second ring. Fingers crossed, the new battery is more reliable.
To be on the safe side, I wouldn't run the battery till the mower shuts off. I think that killed the battery.
Hi. What exactly happened? Once you ran it dead, it would not recharge? Thanks.

Did either of you try to use a 10% off coupon when you purchased?

Thanks! I checked the stores by me that had it at $539, and they have lowered their price to $450 as well, so I changed the prices in the OP, title, etc.

Now to call HD to see if I can get price protection price match, another $90 back would be nice!

Correct. The battery didn't have enough voltage to recharge. So I wouldn't take a recharge. There are ways to fix it, but when I just purchased it, I would rather have a fresh battery.

Picked one up for 450 in the Los Angeles area, the North Hollywood location has 3 left. They also have a lower end model RY401140US for 239.
