Not sure if they have made any major changes on this model in the past decade, mine is still holding strong and sound good. However, the sound Sennheiser HD 660S (the only other music outlet I have) is total at a different leve if you are into the quality of the sound

no. These are designed to sound accurate, which means bad when there are phase or mix issues. You probably want speakers, not monitors.
