The other brands don't work because they have the bitter coating to discourage children from putting them in the mouth. You can take off the coating off by using some isopropyl alcohol and rubbing it off the battery. They will work after that.
I've been using these Toshibas in my Airtags for several months, no issues whatsoever. Also about 50% cheaper than this deal.

And they did significantly better than the Panasonics in this review:

Weird, I just replaced an airtag with the Energizer child-coated battery and it's working fine right now. I didn't do anything other than open the pack and stick battery straight in.

For anyone who uses apple airtags, they are only compatible with Panasonic batteries. I have tested duracell and Energizer and for some freaking reason, they do not work. I suggest stocking up on these panasonic batteries

I don't trust amazon for their cr batteries. I buy them from digikey and those are the real deal.

have had 30+ energizer cells work fine for me. however they were $10 so I'm going to switch to panasonics.

Be sure to check the voltage on every battery when you get them. 3.3 volts is the proper voltage not 3.

I will chime in and say I have bought two packs of 2032 batteries from Amazon and they were both duds... and I love Amazon and buy most stuff from there.

I have like 10 AirTags and they are all using Duracells from Costco so that's not true.

You can just pop them in your mouth and swish around a bit. It's easy to tell when the coating is off.
