Woot! has New LawnMaster 24V 4.0Ah Battery for Cordless Power Tools for $6.99. Shipping is free with Amazon Prime, otherwise $6 per order.

A very hot deal price for extra batteries if you have LawnMaster equipment.

Might also be a cheap source of high quality cells for the hobbyist or those rebuilding battery packs for other tool brands.

Anyone know what cells this uses? Googling hasn't shown much of anything.

Thanks OP! In for 5 at this price.

Not sure what cells they are, but the website seems to state that they are atleast lithium ion.

Gonna see if I can design and 3d print an adapter for my porter cable tools. Hopefully the extra 4v wont fry them. Otherwise, I'll simply rip the cells out and use them for other projects. Hard to find 18650s for anywhere close to a dollar these days, assuminug that's what these are.

I hope the adaptation works out well. Depending on the onboard circuitry, you may be able to pull a cell or 2 out to match your Porter Cable voltage and charger. Although with BMS that sounds a bit unlikely. Worst case you're getting a bunch of brand new (and probably brand name) cells that are likely a direct swap for a tired old pack.

I posted these for guys like you who see the value and want to do some tinkering on the cheap. Once you receive them I'd love to hear about your findings.

Cool, thanks for the suggestion. Not much selection in the way of new 18650s or 21700s, but those reclaimed battery packs seem like they could be a smokin deal. (perhaps literally).

Previously, I picked up 100 new 2500 mah 18650s for $1 each from another site, and have used about half. Theyre great for small remote IoT or arduino projects, like weather stations, or tilt hydrometers for homebrewing. But the capacity is a little low for flashlights. They'd probably be fine for recelling 20v tool packs, but if I recall the discharge capacity was a bit low. The reclaimed packs from batteryhookuyp might be fine, or they might not be. You never know how much life those cells have remaining. But these lawnmaster packs presumably pack twelve brand new 2000 mah 18650s each, coming out to 58 cents a piece. And I'd think they'd have to be rated at a high enough discharge rate to run most tools.

Once I give them a look over, if theyre still in stock, I might buy another 5.

In case anyone comes back here or these go on sale again, they are 12 18650's, and the BMS is labeled "FO2214.33.00" so they apparently are also the batteries used for "ETG" robotic mowers.
They are spot welded into the case in such a way that you have to destroy the case to identify the cells. If I decide to go that are I will post an update.
They case is labeled "6INR19/66-2" but that looks like a generic battery pack designation.

Edit: the cells are "SunPower" INR18650-2000

So probably mediocre at best. Have not tested capacity.

Thanks for the update. I came back to see how the teardowns went. SunPower is a pretty big and reputable company. I would expect their cells to be above average quality, if not a premium brand relabel. Pretty good score for less than 60 cents per cell shipped if you have use for them.

Looks like you nailed the battery type and mAH capacity. Good times.

And it looks like these are back in stock... Still limited to 5 per customer, so if you ordered a couple weeks ago, you cant place a second order.

But as luck would have it, on a whim my wife just happened to order five more for me! Gee, what are the odds?

I didn't expect to see these in stock again.

Better hang on to her; she's a good 'un. Does she have a single sister? Haha

averaging 2100 mah, 40 internal resistance.

Pardon my ignorance, but how does that compare to the top brands? 5% over spec on capacity sounds good.

It's pretty good, and very good for the price. Most salvaged 18650 cells from medical equipment come in around .50-$1 per cell and usually run 1800-2300 mAh and 80-150 IR
These are essentially new. I even had to double-check the first few I tested because I had never seen internal resistance that low.

Cool. I was pretty optimistic when I posted these because they were new stock and never used. My only concern was how old they were in terms of manufacture date and time in storage. Thanks a lot for all the feedback and information. I have a few 18650s that I use in flashlights etc. but I've never taken it to the level that you all have, of measuring mAH capacity and internal resistance, and doing projects with them.
