If blood oxygen levels aren't important, why would they take that measurement when they triage at the ER?

I used to work for a very well known pulse oxymeter company and there's a reason why they put one on your finger whenever you are in hospital.
It's very useful to keep track of patients remotely via your pulse and your oxygen level. This would let them respond to you quickly when you have cardiac arrest or anything that suddenly spikes your heart rate. Nothing kills you faster than a stopping heart or no oxygen circulates in your body. This saves plenty of lives so it's only useless if you are not in health care lol. This is also really important if you are a new parent. If you know what sudden death syndrome is, this would save your child. If you didn't know, now you know
