Lots of people use it in motorcycles and small engines, but the zinc content doesn't go well with gasoline engine catalytic converters, so gas engine automotive use is usually not recommended. There's a lot of information on the net about this.
The rebate combined will the rollback discounted price is the important part, and i posted the most popular viscosity for reference. Anyone interested can take the 15 seconds to go find the 10W-30 or other viscosity they need after clicking through to Walmart. That takes less time (and is certainly more productive) than commenting that this is not the right viscosity for their application.
This is top of the line diesel engine oil. Don't put too much faith in retailer vehicle application recommendations; they are wrong on a regular basis. Your owner's manual always has viscosity and grade information for oil selection.

Oil shouldn't really be effecting your cats unless I guess you're burning a lot of it…

Agreed. Sorta brought it up as one of the big points against using diesel oil in gas engines. Some slight oil burning is inevitable, even on a new engine. And there are so many premium synthetics made for gas engines; why risk it?

For a lot of cars, a qt/1k MI is "within spec". Definitely enough to clog your cats

Between Shell, Mobil, and other brands, these big rebates become available at least 2-3 times a year. Stocking up with rebates is a great way to always have premium oil on hand for cheap, especially on one like this where 10 gallons are available. I try to rotate stock and to not store new oil for more than a year or so in climate controlled storage. In the past I've had some Mobil 1 discolor with an orange tinge after a year plus in shop storage without climate control.

but, but, but, you didn't list my viscosity and ensure that it works in my vehicle without ever having met me or know what I drive. They should kick you off of the site, unless you tell me how to change my oil.

Hahahaha! ! I've been (sort of) flirting with getting kicked off the site for some time now (Actually the mods are pretty chill and patient with me and in return I try to keep it between the ditches). But I have this dogged determination to help people save money...call it a character flaw. It's just the right thing to do, especially in these wildly inflationary times. If my research is correct this oil is not on Fords approved list because the oil is high in zinc which might not work well with the oil cooler
FYI: Ford wants 1000 PPM Phosphorus minimum to meet their F1 specification. This oil DOES meet Fords F1 approval.

My Subaru 3.6R at 90k started burning 1qt/3k miles, so ima stick to the normal 5-30w Kirkland oil.

Not going to say that I watched that whole video but her point about stupidity vs ignorance and the lack of critical thinking are spot on.

I am of the opinion that the onset of emotional intelligence was the sign that our society was in full retrograde. It isn't like logic and reason failed society.

A deal on an oil I use all the time, in fact I bought a jug in the rebate period, just the rebate link goes to a page where you need to log in, but no ability to create an account. So unless a link to an actual rebate form, or some way to file the rebate, the deal is no good to me other than the $19.95 price, that is decent for an oil I put in all my motorcycles and ATVs here, and trucks etc.. I like diesel oil and so far no issue with my converters I am aware of... he oil is for the internals of the engine, not for combustion, so if you are consuming oil, you have more problems than just the zinc levels of the oil with your converters.. the zinc protects the metal on metal wear, bottoms of your lifters on that cam for example,,,

That is in fact what it says.

Mobil has another oil " Mobil Diesel Truck" it's pricier but supposed to be better.

wondering if this is "BMW certified" for my X5 diesel. The manual strictly says LL-12 or better.
