We use the 2qt version and it has served us well for the past year. Decent cold brew after 2 days, but best after 4 days IMHO. We use Death Wish Coffee Dark Roast from Amazon, though I've seen it available at Target also. One 2qt lasts us 1 week. We have one cold brewing in our drink fridge, but the one ready to serve is in our regular fridge. We rotate accordingly. So ideally, buy 2. One ready to drink, while one cold brewing.
How do you go about cleaning grounds from the filter without rinsing them down the drain?

I don't have this unit but love making cold coffee sometimes less than 18 hours but I do agree with above the longer the steep the better it is. I made some Saturday evening and took it with me Sunday morning.. still coffee tho.

I highly recommend the hyperchiller, the stainless steel one is really nice, use it every morning, brew directly into it from a espresso vertuo, then pour over ice and rinse it out, and back in the freezer

Cup of water with dirty filter outside, rinse from outside in and let the grounds fall outside

Wow this looks pretty neat, never heard of it. My wife would probably kill me if I buy any more coffee paraphernalia.

I have the 2qt. Great unit. Lasts me 2 days. Constant rolling brew is the way to go.

Metal filters suck. I started using cold brew coffee bags that you can use instead, which work almost as good as the regular drip filters. The metal filters require paper filtering afterwards as too much fine ground gets through and they're hard to clean well.

Could you put tea packs inside instead of coffee?

We have had a few of the 2 qt ones for years. Have made iced tea, lemonade and cold brew. Seals well and will last forever! Would but more, but have a bunch already.

Any suggestion for cold brew recipe? I did quick google search and i see 1:6 to 1:8 ratio of coffee to water. For exactly this size carafe, like a 4 cup carafe what is that "magic ratio" of coarse ground coffee to make a whole container of cold brew? Assuming i don't have to use a scale for measurement and maybe use tsp or tablespoon measuring… TIA!!

First time trying cold brew at home, already have glass container with metal filter for this purpose. Must try this year!
