You can't have a 6' long passive Thunderbolt cable unless you're willing to take a performance hit. And a real Thunderbolt cable is way more than $10. An active cable even more on top of that.
Not sure what your requirements for Thunderbolt are and why you're adamant about it, but you also have to consider the economy of scale when dealing with what is still pretty niche tech.
Do I really want to spend three times as much on fewer cables with Thunderbolt when USB 4 or even 3.2 is cheap, easy to come by, and plenty fast for most use cases?

It's not the cable, it's the technology.
A Thunderbolt cable is always going to cost more.
Unless you absolutely need Thunderbolt for some reason (which is becoming less and less by the day), USB 4 or 3.2 are the better way to go — especially if cost is a factor.
And yes, you can get cheaper USB cables, but Anker is popular for a reason.

The majority of cables that get posted here are USB 2.0... do you have any good 3.0+ cables you've found that are reasonably priced?
That's generally because people are searching for charging cables and don't need data at all.
Or, they need high speed data but the device in question is perfectly happy with under 3A.
If your requirements include both, you're always going to be paying extra for the additional hardware required to make both work. The actual cable isn't what drives up the cost, it's the marker chip in the cable that handshakes for higher power output.
The last 3.2 Gen 2 cables I bought were $6 each. Fully braided and jacketed on the ends. But they were also only rated for 3A, because the device in question didn't need charging.
Also keep in mind that the USB 3 spec carries multiple revisions, making it far more variable than USB 2.0.
Do you need 5Gbps, 10Gbps, or 20Gbps?
