Power strips are cheap... your electronics are not.

Skip these and look for other options that include a surge protector. Well worth a few more pennies.

Are these UL listed? I'd like to not risk burning my house down, with at least some kind of safety certifications.

Dang, I've always been using $4 ones without. Any good surge protector packs? I probably need 10.
My monitor sometimes does this weird thing when I turn off my bathroom light... don't wan it to die on me after 10 years.

These are perfect for the kitchen, garage, etc. No surge protection needed. These claim to have overload protection (circuit breaker?) and that's all the protection most kitchens and garage need. Living in a NYC building, I've never seen a power surge that wasn't knowingly caused by me. In for 3.

You're fine. Very few people get actual surges unless they live in the country with dirty power lines and violent storms. When was the last time you heard of a surge protector actually tripping? Surge protection is a one time event. After it happens, you'll need to replace the entire surge protector. More commonly, people trip the circuit breaker (not the surge protection) with an overload. In that case, you simply reset the unit.

Bathroom lights don't create meaningful surges. Especially when you turn them OFF. It's also unlikely that your bathroom and monitor share the same line. My guess is that your having some kind of weird RF interference. That was more common with old fluorescent bulbs. In fact, if you look on the first 3 pages of the monitor's manual, it'll probably mention RF interference.

No, that length is perfect for the kitchen counter and garage workbench. You don't want loose extra cord dangling around. It's also handy for use in hotels when traveling.

Agree, kind of interesting any manufacturer even still makes non-low profile plugs. I imagine the cost difference for manufacturing low profile is insignificant, why even bother making the alternative anymore?

The real question is - why do you have a monitor in your bathroom???
