Dang these are good deals, but sadly I am still waiting for the elusive g4 83"
Just because future versions won't have MLA doesn't mean the new technology won't be superior in the end.
MLA was a stopgap until they get tandem OLED ready for mass market. Early impressions of the G5 show that it has much higher brightness and better color performance.

Same price as Superbowl week but your getting an extra $130 gift card. I bought the 65" TV and its great love it. The OLED screen has some of the best detail I've ever seen on a TV. Blacks, darker than my heart Wink. Buy it your wont be disappointed.

So Great deal

Bets buy had the c4 down to around thiis price over chrsitmas season.. i know because i have total tech and had a c2 65" screen go bad and they were going to replace the panel, even had the panel shipped to the repair guy for best buy... then they called me back and dewcided to give me the option to do a like-for-like with a c4... or i could return the tv and get a gift card for the amount paid ..

I ended up getting a new 65" C4 AND 300+ dollars back on a gift card ... and that's why i started buying so much suff at best buy again.. .180 bucks a year and everything is covered under a service plan that saves me so much money it's honestly ridiculous (i have replaced so many video game controllers alone... including ps5 dualsense edge TWICE)

for 180 a year and the fact that they'll price match I have a hard time NOT deferring to best buy for most purchases these days..

I mean look how much apple care costs and ... i just bought iphone 16 pro / watch 10 / airpod pro 2 from best buy and they all got 2 years of apple care for free (i had to pay the difference for the pluis plan on the phone for accidfental damage etc)

EDIT: I should have noted after that last sentence... total tech (or whatever they call it now) covers accidental damage with a really small deduct after year-1 of 2 .... and you can extend the individual coverages after 2 years for relatively cheap.

They even cover drones so i could have smashed my dji FPV into a wall and got a new one for free.
NOt sure why more people don't use it.. I always avoided service plans in the past but to me this has been a godsend and has saved me thousands of dollars over time.

edit 2... C4 is an amazing tv..... the c5 isn't a huge improvement (G5 is a huge improvement even ofver the g4)

G5 can do 165hz gaming... C4/c5 can still do 144hz
The g5 also has better colors better brightness and a lot of other stuff going for it

Another note would be that yes the G's cost a lot more, but they also come with a FIVE YEAR panel warranty from LG (every other oled they sell is a two year)

product protection? or is this part of a best buy membership?

both... total tecch is a subscription that costs me 180 a yaear but it's also blanket 2-year product protection on literally every single thing i buy from there -- which tends to pay for itself just by replacing game controllers tbh. (not to mention the oled mentioned above, the samsung fold 3 i replaced last year, the samsung watch i replaced last year etc. )

it does give me more incentive to buy more things from best buy so long as tehy price match it just makes sense... i don't have to stress about anything breaking .. i've also changed out numerous gaming keyboards and mice that cost a ton these days...)

Everythig I buy having a blanket plan that costs not much more than amazon prime seems like a better deal for me tbh.. plus i get 60-day no question returns on everything

It also says you get:

Free With Purchase: CPS 4 Year Accidental Television/Projector Extended (ACC $249.99)

Anyone have more details on this?

found it: https://www.buydig.com/shop/produ...r-1500-ACC
It looks great on paper but I had to submit a claim once that was a completely pain the ass to process. They will ignore you but you have to keep calling and emailing them daily.

CPS warranty customer service is terrible

What do all these acronyms mean? MLA, tandem OLED, G4 etc . I have been away from TV for years and looking to buy a 65" TV but can't make out what to look for. Is it that much different between 350$ 65 inch on Costco vs $2000 OLED . I saw them side by side and of course OLED looks better but can it justify the price difference?

Not relevant to the listing directly, but I just got a 77" B4, replacing a 70" lcd, and everyone who has seen this is blown away. This is my everyday tv in the main living area, and it is more than sufficient. It was $1600 with free installation. I went to BB to see the differences between B4, C4, and G4, and while one can see some difference, I could not see the justification of 1k price difference between them. Very happy with my purchase and love to share it with fellow enthusiasts!

OLED = Organic LED. Each pixel is it's own light source than can be turned on or off. So the advantage over the other cheaper LCD tv's that you are comparing with is that when the pixel is off, it is off, completely black. LCD TV's work by having a light source behind a LCD panel, and the LCD blocks the light it doesn't want. With LCD TV's there is always some backlight leaking through to run the total blacks. How much it leaks through is dependent on how good/expensive the LCD tv is; the good ones don't use a full screen backlight but only light up the parts that need light, but since the size of the section that lights up is still larger than a small bit that needs it, there will be a glow around that area. Generally OLED is considered the top display technology for watching movies, especially in dark room because it's blacks are truly black. However, LCD traditionally can get brighter for watching in bright room with sun, etc. Which brings us to:

MLA = Micro Lens Array - a tiny lens is put on top of each OLED pixel to concentrate it's light so it can be brighter. Only available on the G series (G4 and I think G3)

Tandem = use of two OLED panels to increase the brightness - LG's replacement technology for MLA on the G5, they put additional OLED pixels/panels to increase the brightness instead of the expensive process of putting a lens on each pixel.

B4, C4, G4 = LG's model lines for OLED tv's, from entry to mid to high end, generally getting brighter as you go up the model line.
4 = 2024 model, 5 = 2025 model
B = entry
C = mid-level
G = high-end

Whether the price is justified is all up to you and what you value.

Got a 65" G4 from this deal. Had a decent TCL series 5 (rtings 7.1, reg LCD with dimming zones, 4k hdr, dv/hlg/hdr10) from 2019. Receipt on the back says I paid $500 at Costco.

The G4 (rtings 9.2) is obviously better. Brighter by 2x at max. Brightness maybe 50% better when dialed in. Richer colors of course. Detail increase impressive. Surprisingly, I see blooming I don't notice on the TCL. Not from the set, but from my eyes. Getting a little up in age now. I had only seen the G4 in brightly lit settings when cross shopping. My fault for not dark setting viewing for this unexpected result.

Is it worth the premium? Have to say probably not. It needs really good source material to make its excellence noticeable. Like 30+ gig bd rips or 20-30mbit streaming vids. And even then, the TCL is still good enough. I ran these side by side with a splitter for 2 days and a lot of vids. The TCL goes to the basement as an upgrade and the G4 gives a welcome size boost.

My advice for those just looking for a good set without being a videophile? Get a B4 or C4, or the Sam's Philips deal. For a fixed $ amount, go larger. Like the 85" QM8, rtings 8.4 rated, in another thread. That sounds amazing.

My use: movies (50/50 hdr and sdr) and sd content. No gaming or monitor use.

No contest though when viewing from an angle, in a dark room or when viewing lower quality content. If sitting exactly in front in the sweet spot and running good quality sources then mid grade LEDs can be very enjoyable.
