Yes and then you lose out on ad-free Spotify, YouTube, reddit, web browsers with extensions, more emulators, etc and you used to get stuck with 64GB of storage. Each platform has its benefits It's not cut and dry like people seem to think for tablets. Especially since the Pixel Tablet has the experimental app compatibility settings.
It's not like the iPad is noticeably faster since both have 60hz screens (unless you game a lot), or that the screen is better since they are both IPS LCDs. Same with the build which is all-aluminum. All you get extra is a few more years of support, and that's at the Pixel tablets regular price, not fire sale which was cheaper than even this last year.
Previous gen Galaxy tabs are really good too, especially since the S8 comes with OLED, a built in stylus, and microSD support.

I'm not disagreeing with you, but the tablet market is generally consumer-oriented, and the subset of consumers that are even "aware" of the things you are describing is fairly non-existent outside of forums and message boards that cater to such communities. The number of enthusiasts that actually know how to do this, or care to learn is even smaller.
Well this is a message board just like it. I was thinking people on here would be able to take advantage of it, not the average consumer who doesn't even consider a deals site like this.
And with streaming websites, etc... more and more people are willing to venture to these unknowns. Today there is no real learning curve to install Ublock Origin and to go to a website.
