The hard to find and highly acclaimed D2 knife that is a clone of the Benchmade Bugout is available for shipping again at the same (non-sale) price of $9.97. The Benchmade Bugout has a list price of $180 and while this is not exactly identical, it is similar enough that it receives generally great reviews. For $10, it's a great knife and that I can attest to.

Bought a couple of these last time when they were 6.99. Agreed with all here, great knife for the price. Good mechanism and holds an edge decently. You really can't do better for this price.
I haven't seen these at $6.99. They have one with stainless blade for like $5 though.

Youtube video that goes into the pros and cons of this knife. Remember, it's just $10 so not a big investment.

Its not rocket science. Its not a "deal" because it's at its original price.
May be t g e same price, buy, what makes it a deal is if what the poster says is true and the functionality and quality is close or at the 100.00+ knife the saving that much is a deal and this site is all about getting deals and saving money. It's chili's to say that it's not a deal when you save that much and get very close to the same thing.

Anyone have a good way of getting the black paint off the blade? After trying and failing using acetone and paint thinner, I did the tedious method of using a Dremel wire brush. I like the gunmetal look of the D2 without black paint on it, but if anyone has tips, lmk!

These got over inflated on YouTube but they are a good value at $10. Of you are making a low cost preparatory kit or stash that you want go stick somewhere and forget, a little grease or wax to protect the edge and these would be perfect.

To those giving this a thumbs down, please have the courtesy to explain your reasoning- it's a great knife for $10, what are you expecting?

Heat treat on these blades is hit or miss.

There's this bizarre frenzy fad over Walmart knives by knife enthusiasts at the moment causing many models to go out of stock.

If a product is MSRP but is often out of stock is available it's kind of a deal.

The problem with cheap knives is they are rarely made from the steel you expect especially D2. However, if it can be sharpened and holds an edge at this price it's good enough. I have bought so many cheap knives. I think with my age and experience, but the best knife you can afford and really really want. You will have it the rest of your life!

Purchased this one and the white non D2 steel version. Arrived perfectly centered and with the right amount of tension.

Disappointed that the blade arrives so dull. It sharpens easily, but out of the box, it can barely cut a sheet of paper.

It'll cut packaging tape easily (not cardboard), so I guess there's that.

Got one of these because they are so popular. I guess if your limit is $10, it's an ok knife, but for $15-$20 you can get a much nicer knife. The thumb studs on mine are loose, the scales aren't very grippy, and the whole thing feels light and cheap. Go to Home Depot and get the Dewalt Tanto blade pocket knife for $15. It's much sturdier and nice knife to use.
