It doesn't handle the wind at all, even with a full tank in the bottom it'll flip over in 15 to 20mph. I have 2 of these, with the covers as well, no corrosion issues.....but the top diffuser is pretty bent up from the fall. Live/learn.
They don't rust if they're stainless steel. The finish gets dull over time if left dirty in the sun. Black widows love to make the tank area their home.
I have mine for 5 years hasn't rusted. I also purchased on scamazon a cheap zip cover for the 2 I have outdoors, I think that helps. Mine are under an awning doesn't get rain or direct sunlight.

Woot [woot.com] has Amazon Basics 46,000 BTU Outdoor Propane Patio Heater w/ Wheels (Slate Gray) for $69.99. Shipping is free w/ Prime, otherwise shipping is $6.

Per product page: This thing uses gas, so it can't be returned to Woot. Once you buy one, it's yours. Warranty claims can still go through the manufacturer, of course.

According to the user manual, no. But with a bit of engineering, anything is possible, I suppose.

Had for 3 years in SoCal. Powder coat finish still looks good, there is very minor rust on the bottom lip of the base that collected a little water. The fire grate will slowly rust and change color from the heat, but still looks good to me. I'm buying a couple more this time to join my old ones.
Buy propane tanks at Costco and refill at expo propane!

I picked up one of these Amazon Basics branded units a couple years ago. Much better quality than others I've purchased in the ~$150 price range. Would purchase again if I needed it.

Looks like it could tip over with moderate wind. Anyone know how well it handles the wind?

I saw you get thumbs down but people in Amazon reviews did say they had concerns about this. Not sure about moderate or if stronger. So it's a valid concern according to reviews. I don't have experience with it though

130 on Amazon with good reviews make sure you keep a tank in the bottom or a weight or it could blow over.

There's not much of manufacturer contact except Amazon. If you're missing a part or a part goes bad, you'd have to get a whole one as a replacement.

No rust on mine, except on parts where the paint was scratched off where the tank goes under the cover. Owned two for 3 years.

They do have a water bladder weight at the bottom which can help. But it's best if you remove the hat in cases of extreme wind.

I concur. Mine just snapped recently in a heavy wind storm even with it, bungee tied to my deck, the wind was too strong, and it fell make sure they are well secured.
