These are actually very competitive prices if you need one today.
Is it where we'd like them to be? Of course not. But that's capitalism for you.
What consumers need to do is support the less common brands so we get some more competition. Unfortunately, those brands get shat on by SD purists.

Exactly. I bought like 4 2tb drives a couple years back when they were all below $90. Don't need any more until 4tb get below $200.
Maybe we really will get those cheap 128TB SSDs Samsung said would be arriving shortly in 2016.
