I have both arc and arc ultra there is no difference in listening experience.
Sonos subs are pretty damned good, but I found the sub mini gives just enough punch for most rooms. You'll want the full sized sub if you're in a large room or have an open floorplan.

The subs are expensive because they're 1/2 Sonos networking components and 1/2 huge driver. Regular subs don't have to deal with the networking stuff. Being able to plug the thing in anywhere without having to run wiring is the selling point.

That being said, there is a hack for a DIY Sonos sub- get a IKEA SYMFONISK speaker for $120 or less, wire your existing generic subwoofer to the speaker in it, and you'll have some extra rumble added to your Sonos setup. Here's an example: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TiPPPu7j5DM

I will say, i think there is huge difference between the era 100s and the era 300s though.

Listening is subjective, but this is so not true. I'm not even a Sonos fanboy, I wildly abhor their current user experience. I have an Arc gen1 in the basement with 2 subs, two era 300 surround. Upstairs I have Arc Ultra, single sub, sonos Five as surrounds. The Ultra is heads and shoulders above the original Arc, especially in its weakest point: Dialogue.

To other comments: Double Sub is 10000% worth it. Buy them used to save on cost.

Regarding the slickness of this deal: It's not slick at all. Buy someone's Arc on facebook for less than $350.
I agree, Arc Ultra sound is way more immersive.
But right now the price difference is $400.
Maybe for Thanksgiving Costco will have the ultra for $799 or less!

Why in God's name is the sub so expensive? For those that have it paired with this, is it somehow worth it?

What's the point of even adding a soundbar if you don't add in a sub? Just stick to TV speakers if you can't have a sub.

For this price, isn't the KEF LSX on sale for slightly more at Costco a Much better deal if the form factor doesn't disqualify it?

Are they still in stock in your area, cause they've been sold out in mine.

Not for everyone.

I was just at Costco yesterday they had it on display at the $599 and stock on the pallet.

Kinda amazing, they have the beam 2 right next to it on the shelf at $499. At just $100 more, totally get the Arc if you're in the market.

Doubt it. Your only hope is to time a clearance when there might only be 3 left in the store when they mark it down to something like $499.97.

But you'd have to go in everyday to catch something like that. They are already moving out their stock with the $599 price. The Arc was once priced at $899.

Anyone have insight as to getting the $79 wall mount? I purchased this bundle and was able to get the Apple gift card but the wall mount voucher isn't working. I've tried the link in the description and it just redirects to their shop link. Also called Sonos who told me to call Costco and Costco is looking into it now.
