A better way to look at ram with computers like this that have a dedicated graphics card is 16GB + 6GB = 22 GB.

For most 16GB is enough.

For laptops too much ram can slow down hibernate and wake up times.
That entirely depends on what you're doing. And most people don't hibernate their computer. Wake up times should not be affected unless you mean wake up from hibernate. Then I should theoretically be around 1 second per extra 4-8gb of ram if you're utilizing all your ram, which isn't that much.

This is not a bad deal. While other 4050s are currently going for around $600, they don't have a screen like this one. 100%DCI-P3 color gamut? 500 nits? 240Hz? That's impressive. Yeah, soldered memory is always a letdown, but how many people running a 4050 need more than 16GB? Plus, this is 6400Mhz memory, people often miss that point. Standard is 5400 or even 4800, but soldered is faster. Moving data faster matters more for most people.
It's not for everyone, but it's not bad at all.

I played with a full-wattage 4050 in an Acer laptop last year and IIRC it clocked like 9,500 in Time Spy. So don't compare this to a low-powered 4050 like in some other laptops. This should be to handle just about any game at 1200p at least.

This is an odd duck. The Triton is upscale of the Nitro and usually reserved for higher end laptops. The video card is the lowest of its generation so this seems possibly aimed at content creation more so than gaming. Rest of the specs are great and for CC, light gaming or video editing, this would be great.
The soldered RAM is the only part I would balk at. On a lower end laptop you get what you pay for, but this was originally almost $1500.
Disclaimer: I own a 4050 laptop and it does fine at 1080p. Not going to blow your socks off but its good at the price point.

This would been amazing deal except the soldered ram. Ruined it completely. I am so pissed I was ready to buy one then I noticed the onboard ram. So basically stuck at 16gb forever. How stupid shame on Acer for making a gaming laptop without being able to upgrade.

I disagree 100% about the ram. I would much rather have 5400 and be able to upgrade it in the future. This is actually the deal breaker for me. This laptop was amazing specs for the price. But then the onboard ram ruined it for me.

The ryzen5 ones were 600. This is the ultra 7 plus it has much better screen and resolution and full power. The deal breaker for me is the onboard ram. So damn stupid I can't even believe they did this
