Thank you! I've been hoping this deal would reappear! I'm no expert, but this seems to be the entry point for a quality digital piano, so we decided to order.

Same. Was waiting for this for months then spent 5x as much on something else, given it's completely different animal of pianos.

Yes this is great for a beginner. I don't have much reference for Kawai models though. However you can get started for a lower price point with the Alesis Recital (88 Key) on Amazon. Around $200 last I checked. But if you think the kid will stick with it and/or you want a nicer piece of "furniture" then go for this one.

Any seriousness should get this. It will be great until intermediate level. As long as your child doesn't quit within 6 month. It's a big investment but worth it imo. Playing music is 1 of the intelligence necessary for happy life. No need to be pro, just have fun with it. Something to get them away from screen time.

I currently have the Casio cdp-s90. Anyone have experience with both that give input? It sounds like audio is better. I'm curious how much better though. Is the feel of the keys any different or the same?

The action will be much better on a PX model than a CDP. The slimline (s) Casio models have a flawed action.
