Must be regional pricing? I see $59.97 for 16lbs, which is 0.234/oz

Math is hard. No it's not:

5.6lbs = $23.77/89.6oz = $0.2653/oz; or $0.252 (w/S&S)
16lbs = $71.98/256oz = $0.281/oz (No S&S option)

Why not get this for $15? 12. Lbs.

I don't really understand the difference. Both from Scott's and both have seed and fertilizer.

OP contains Seeds, your post contains less seed, fertilizer and soil improvizer in it to cover the spots

Thanks for posting. Probably a lot more filler in that one though, like dirt.

Would I be able to use a weedeater to clear some ivy on the hillside and plant this to recover the area taken over by ivy?

Don't they both have a mix?

Scotts Turf Builder Grass Seed Sun & Shade Mix with Fertilizer and Soil Improver, Thrives in Many Conditions, 5.6 lbs.

Scotts Turf Builder THICK'R LAWN Grass Seed, Fertilizer, and Soil Improver for Sun & Shade, 1,200 sq. ft., 12 lbs.

Neither appears to be just seed.

Wish the grass types were listed somewhere when the only product is grass seed.

I'd never sell flowers, and say everything except what flowers I'm selling.

No, you'll need to take it out by the roots because it will just grow back and overwhelm the grass. You could also cover it in plastic until it completely dies, then cut the dead ivy out and plant. Tilling is going to be your best bet though because it will help the grass thrive planting in the loose soil.

has to be less seed, that bag says on 1200sqft vs almost double that on the other bag, which tells me it's mostly filler

I think legally they have to, all grass seed bags have a label on them that tells the percentages, composition, and seed viability rate. Just can't see it on the amazon listing because it's normally stapled on..deets might be in the comments
