Does anyone know about how to program the buttons and macros on this keyboard? I assume there is software involved. If so, do you know if the software has to be running for the macros to work or if the macro 's would be programmed into the the keyboard itself? I'm asking because I would be using it for both personal and work use and I would not be able to use the software on my work computer due to work policies.

(To answer your question before all this reading, no you don't need the software open. You can have one profile saved to the keyboard and then you can switch between your custom profile and the default keys at any time with a button on the keyboard itself).
You can use the software but the keyboard itself also has a button (the star button at top left) that you can press to bind things directly without software. You can bind any key, key combo, or sequence of up to 6 keys directly to the B/A keyboard buttons, B/A super buttons (separate inputs so you have have different things on the keyboard B/A and the big buttons B/A), or the joystick. You can also use this bind button to switch any of the function keys around, like swapping tab with shift, caps lock with ctrl, etc. However your key sequences are executed immediately in sequence. If you want to adjust timing between presses, that's software only.
Using the software is where you can make more complicated macros with more than 6 key presses and adjust the timing between each press. You can also rebind any key and set macros to any keyboard key, not just the extra buttons. It's also what you'd need to remap mouse functions to the keyboard. You do not need the software open to use it after you have configured everything. The profile button is the one right next to the bind(star) button. This switches between default keys(light off) and your active profile (light on). You can only have one active profile (plus default settings) on the keyboard at a time. You can save more profiles in the software, but you have to select in the software which profile you want at any given time. And then you can switch between your profile and default at any given time without software.
