The chrono is very nice for the price, with 3D dial, applied indexes, screw backcase and polished besel. The folded endlinks bracelet is cheapening it out, though... I would change it to an inexpensive leather strap.
It would be a good mid/high school graduation gift.

42mm diameter and 22mm lugs seem pretty big for a middle school or high school student

It's a chrono; they rarely go below 42mm, and small chronos are rare and usually look uninteresting, IMO.

Would it be too cheap looking for a college grad?

It looks perfectly fine for everyday wear, casual and professional setting alike, 99% of the people out there won't even notice the watch brand but it will notice the design and appreciate it as it compliments most non-formal outfits.... then you have my brother's boss arriving in a 90's Ferrari wearing a Swatch x Vegeta watch for Saturday brunch, lol.

This is a nice watch as long as you are not a watch snob, even then, it's a nice watch. It isnt LUXURY, but it looks really nice and it is a respected brand. If you want to go up a little check out some Casio Oceanus VERY VERY nice and amazing for the price (and that is coming from a watch nerd.). Casio is GOD tier haha

If you go to Jomashop and do a search... you can find a bunch of really decent watches for a similar price ($90-150 range). Select Men's watches, then sort by "biggest savings" then "low to high" display and it will sort by both criteria. You can select particular brands on the left to further narrow down the results. Citizen and Seiko are a good start. Jomashop has "sales" all the time so don't get to excited about the discount over MSRP, but if you see something interesting find the exact model number and google it to see the realistic price range for it.....Jomashop will usually be very competitive.

If you wear this watch with a dress shirt on your right hand, the knob rubs on the dress short and ruins it within a year.
I had two dress shirts ruined Smilie
Too much of a technical detail, but I hope it will be useful for someone .

I'm pretty sure the Oceanus is very high quality but paying $1,000+ for a Casio is a big no-no, kinda like paying big bucks for a Grand Seiko, I appreciate the movement but not the brand for the money, you can buy a Glashutte Panomatic Lunar that looks so much better for around the same price or a very nice used Cartier for 1/4 of the price.

Haha, watch snobs only cares for mechanical watches Smilie

If Rolex comes out with a quartz watch that's a million times more accurate at telling time, they'd probably still turn up their noses. Yet, they'd pay a premium for COSC certification. Hehe.
