Everyone mostly uses bigger screens than 42" these days so $309 full price doesn't even make any sense. TV will be cheaper than this.

I see your point about the TV size, but I do think that this is a slick price for those who could use it.

Actually I mentioned about the original $309.99 price. It doesn't make sense to buy this at that price.

I agree with you. Sauder specifies MSRP at $309.99 and presumably they sold units at that price?!? Sauder's current sale price is $224.99 and Walmart handily beats that right now.

For the price and number of spots, this looks good if you have a bunch of console gaming systems. Perfect for basement

My cats would use it as a jungle gym and knock everything over.

I wouldn't put any gaming systems from the last 20 years in the lower shelves except maybe the Wii/WiiU. They're only 5.5" tall and have a closed back which is going to severely restrict airflow and accelerate system death.

The shelves to the sides would be better for that purpose, but you may still have issues because of the width/height of the individual shelves—based on the drawings, I'm guessing the taller shelves are about 14.5" tall which won't fit a PS5 vertically with the recommended amount of space on all sides for airflow, and at 10 3/8" wide, they're too narrow for horizontal orientation. You might get away with a Series X, and should be okay with a Series S and the Nintendo Switch.

Cartridge based retro systems would be mostly unbothered.
