Imo this is a tool to use when you actually need the pivot function, not an extension to leave on your driver full time. The mechanism has a lot of play even when locked so it doesn't mesh that well with the fastener.
When you need it immediately you'll have to wait for it to ship and the sale. For a $1 difference, have it in hand when the need arises..

I agree the extra bits aren't worth non impact rating.

I'm a noob when it comes to tools but I bought this, tried it, and couldn't believe it's impact rated. After some light use on some flat head screws, the bit tip is showing crazy signs of wear and I feel like it'll be stripped real soon. It did make removing and reinstalling the seat cushions from the frames of my dining chairs a lot easier of a job though, and for the $10 I spent on it I'd say it was worth.

Sounds like two issues to me, neither one being this extension. First, flat head screws are a pain, even when un/screwing straight without an extension/adapter. You really have to get the right sized flat head, and even then you'll have issues.

Second issue could be if the flat head bit isn't of good quality.

If the issue were this extension, it would most likely break apart itself, not the tip. A torx but would probably fare better, especially if the bit itself were impact rated.

I could be wrong, but I've stripped the heads of a few flat and Phillips head screws and bits in my day. Hex and torx, I mostly lost, lol.

Lowest price was $8 back in Feb. I'd wait unless you need it immediately.

The holder is impact rated, but there's a chance the tip is not. If you want good impact rated tips, go with Bosch.

However, nobody uses flat head screws if they can avoid them. I don't even think they make them hard enough to need an impact.

And you certainly don't need that much driving force for dining chairs.

I'm confused why this is front page? It's basically been $9 for the past year+ and MSRP has been 9 since 2012 on keepa? What am I missing?
