Confirming a toddler or maybe 5/6yo could sit, but it's small. That said, my son has has this in his room for half of his life and sat down there maybe twice.

In hindsight, I would have been better served by more book storage space rather than the seat.

Hoping this works for a dog (20 lb.) as a perch to look out of the window, a bed and toy storage... gambling that there's enough room for him to sleep on comfortably.

is this sturdy if you were to flip it upside down? I don't need the reading nook and think my cat would like a bed down there instead.

Have this, the edges are razor blades. Plan on putting protective edge guards on every one of them
