Great jacket, but I'd wait until Memorial Day. I got it last memorial day for $118 (and for the more expensive hooded version).

How does this compare to the Arcteryx Atom? Love my atom but they're almost never at this price anymore.

Looks like someone posted the hood version. $157 this time around.

I've had the hooded earlier version since 2022. Best jacked I have ever owned.
Pros: breathable, super light and compact, feels soft and nice, and most importantly, stretchy and very very comfy. It repels water, but can't stay under the rain for long.

Con: I think the shell material, at least from what I had back then, is not the strongest. Some signs of wear, but also, I'm not treating is as a luxury item, and wear it to every situation from everyday life to long hikes and backpacking trips.

I like this much better than the feeling of classic down-filled, yet with plasticy feel and non-stretchy shell, which makes it anything but comfortable.

Also, someone has posted the hooded-version link above. Do yourself a favor and get that one instead. Makes all the difference in how warm and cozy you feel, when you need that hood.

That's alot to pay for polyester. Prefer to pay more for active wear wool or down like icebreakers or smartwool.

I have both.
Atom is thinner, but just as warm in the body.
Sleeves are pretty thin.
But, if you're looking for something that is lightweight than go with Atom.

For me I find the fit of Patagonia to be better between the two.

I get Medium for both, and I am 6'1" and 175lbs.

It's a promoted post. Probably not much of a deal.

It absolutely is. I'm a merino wool fanatic and have yet to find something that is as comfortable with great temperature regulation as merino wool.

A discussion on merino wool has no place in a post about a jacket. Merino is good for base layers. This jacket is for lightweight insulated warmth and cutting wind. It's designed to keep you warm and shed heat during intense movement. Down is generally too warm to be activewear.
