I wouldn't even take this if it was free. Dextrose is the first ingredient and it has a high glycemic index (GI) of 100. This is not a good sugar substitute.

Only buy the stevia extract from Trader Joes. 100% Stevia. 2-3 drops per cup of coffee. NO Dextrose like this product has.

This isn't just misleading, it is a flat out lie. Dextrose is the primary ingredient, not Stevia.
All from the people that brought you Sucralose warnings.

I am very surprised to see that it does have dextrose which is glucose essentially but claims 0 calories. How could that happen? Glucose apparently is not 0 calories.

Because if you simply make the serving size small enough, the government lets you call it zero. Wink, wink. Just how many people have to suffer untimely deaths before the corporations realize they are killing their own consumers ?

You're absolutely right. After doing some research, I've learned that as long as the serving size is small enough to keep the calories under 5, companies can legally label it as "zero calories" — even though it's clearly not the same thing. Just 1g of glucose contains about 3.4 calories. It feels like cheating, honestly.
I had used this product for years, believing it was truly zero-calorie. I'm really glad I came across this thread, and I hope more people will too.

Dextrose, their first listed ingredient, is literally sugar. It's a simple sugar with an even higher glycemic index than table sugar. It's crazy to me that they try to pass this as a healthy alternative for diabetics. Adding cheaper bulking agents to increase profit margins at the expense of the health of their consumers.

None of these sweeteners are good. Stevia can create issues with your liver! I was popping high on liver enzymes for about 2 years and couldn't figure out why, as everything we tried to resolve it wouldn't work. After reading about a connection to Stevia, I stopped using the product and within 6 months my Liver was 100% back to normal and having avoided Stevia since, my liver issues never returned.

About 20% of the people who consume Stevia will likely see this issue, so if you're seeing this on your blood work, might want to give this a try.
