But as with any ratcheting screwdriver, if there's not enough friction/tension on the screw threads, the ratchet action won't work, and you have to hold the screw itself for it to work.

I bought this exact same set under a different brand a couple years ago. Ratchet works fine I guess but I very rarely ever find a use for the "T" configuration. It's just a really awkward size, way too wide and way too short. The body of the tool is a bit too wide to fit in small spots. I keep it around for the variety of the bits, but you're probably better off with a more traditional ratcheting screw driver/bit set.
