I'm a little concerned that I can't find what kind of seed they use. I've read that many of these quick seed products use grass that dies after 1 year, so you have to reseed every spring.

You're better off using grass seeds from a sod farm .. normally 5 lbs of blue Kelly grass seeds is 21$ by me.. or black water grass for 25$ .. I rather do that than buy Scott's ever again

Do grass seeds expire? I bought Pennington grass seed with fertilizer built in and stored it in my garage and need to re seed again

Hi, yes grass seed germination rates drops off sharply after 1 year. Always check the date on the back of the bag. You're at highest risk of buying old seed early in the season. Last years leftovers
