Fakespot itself should get an "F" for accuracy at this point.
I see comments like this every once in a while. I've always wondered where they come from. Is there a backstory as to why Fakespot isn't viewed favorably anymore? Is there a better alternative? Whenever I buy products off of Amazon I always sort by highest Amazon rating and then look at the top 2-3 products with adequate review counts and an A or B Fakespot rating. So far it's been a bullet proof approach but I don't know what I don't know.

To be fair I think they are all copies of each other. I bought some no name brand on sale a while back just like this thinking it would fail. It works better than my wired android auto and is still bulletproof after almost 2 years of daily use.
Tried that on my crosstrek 2019 and it works fast. Don't think I would pay more than that.
Not sure actually. Comparing the listing details the only difference I see is one says "Upgraded 2025 Model". They both look to have the same processor and Bluetooth version.

A quick browse showed all of those reviews being less than 2 months old and 8% of them are 1-Star which is a red flag for me. The historical pricing of this exact product doesn't even go back more than 2 months. Given that information and the fact that it is already heavily discounted on Woot!, I think it is completely reasonable to ask for any first hand experience with the product.
