I don't have Prime and the code still brought it down to $8.99 pre tax. Should still be free shipping because it's >$35 before the discount!

I dunno... the price is decent and all but is it wise to buy something like this compared to spending more on a reliable Brother label printer?
Edit: Also, I'm unclear on how far the labels will take you, how many per roll on refills, etc. Figure it's probably not a good deal even if it's "cheap".

Brother p touch cost you much more however it is more durable for being laminated, brother also use tape giving you flexible label width.
In the other hand I find this label maker is small and convenient, good enough for most simple jobs such as labeling guests utensils, seats or anywhere a permanent marker isn't desired.
Sure it might not last as long given it is not laminated and you might have touble fit a long sentence given the fixed label size but it doesn't mean it is useless.
