1000:1 contrast ratio. Isn't that terrible? That's the only information stopping me from buying it.

That contrast ratio is typical of the vast majority of IPS monitors. VA & OLED will be better in that regard. But if you need to stick to IPS, maybe look into Dell's IPS Black Technology panels.

I used to have both 27in qhd and 32in 4k 100% next to one another and at about 5-6 feet away, texts on the 27in is definitely easier to read so that's my chat/email/discord/Twitter and also gaming since 4k gaming is more taxing on the system, depends on the game, obviously. Everything else like YouTube, netflix, charts, maybe even excels go onto the 32in 4k for me
Thanks for the input! I'm not getting any younger, so I'm kind of leaning toward not making the text any smaller. Sounds like you rely on slightly larger text as well.

specs on this show that is IPS (not VA). We buy these for the office. 27" UHD is a great size/resolution with no scaling.
Each of our desks has 2 of these on a double arm mount (so stand not an issue) and hooked up to a display link docking station so works perfect for both pc and mac users.

I purchased the G2724D about a year ago for $160 and have been happy with it. It's a better monitor than this one: https://www.rtings.com/monitor/to...1041/77107

Can anyone recommend this monitor? Looking for a decent 1440p but willing to pay a little more if this isn't good
Just received mine since I wanted to "downgrade" from a 32 back to a 27. Looks awesome so far refresh rate is accurate. Text is awesome as are colors.

I have a budget of $180 to $200. Do you have any recommendations for some better than this? If not, I'll probably stick with this one and thank you for the info

I once told myself that 24" 4k @ 100% was as large as I wanted to go until the 27-28" 4k went down in price significantly overtaking 24" 4k monitors. So when my 24" 4k died, I got a 28" 4k that I'm now using at work. At home, I have a 27" 4k + 23" 1080.

I'm starting to use my 24" 1080 + 24" 2k for gaming/personal and I don't see the need for 4k on that rig which means I really just need 4k for work.

I think I'd rather 27-28" + another 24" instead of a single 32". I can't imagine a 32" + another monitor fitting on my current table-top standing desk unless they're stacked on top of each other - which may not work for me. In 15 years, however, when my eyes are bad, if I still need to work, I may take a 32" 4k + 27-28" 2k on the side.
I mean preferences change. I think my first monitor was a monochrome 12" screen Wink. Much later I never thought anything over 21" would be necessary - ever!!! I've been using a 40" primary monitor for like 10 years now and when I have to use a machine with a 32, 27, or god forbid 24" screen I cringe.

Yes, it's stupid, I know. But for other people too looking for monitors - it's all a personal preference - size do you want / can tolerate a 32+ monitor, or are you fine with a 24/27. Do you really need a gazillion Hz refresh rate or 1ms response if you're just doing office work? Do "stand features" matter at all if you'll mount it on a vesa adjustable arm? Do viewing angles ever matter if you're the only person using it and sitting right in front of it? etc.

I remember the last time I saw a deal on this 2025 model the comments section said the 2024 one was better, rtings seems to agree, here's their summary:

> The Dell G2725D is a successor to the Dell G2724D, but is a downgrade in performance. The G2725D has worse motion motion handling, doesn't support VRR with consoles like on the G2724D, and has worse build quality and ergonomics. The G2725D doesn't support HDR either, but considering the G2724D has limited picture quality in HDR, this doesn't make a big difference.

I own the 2024 model, got it for $150 so I'd say it might be worth paying the extra $10 if you can find a deal on the 2024 one
EDIT: SD says that Dell Outlet has the 2024 model up for $140 right now, may as well just buy that
