if the packaging is thicker than .25 inches or need to cut close to thick contours of the sealed product, the tool may get stuck. It will work fine if the thickness of the object you are cutting is less than .25 inch.

Sweet deal. They definitely come in handy. Not cutting up my hands on clamshells is nice, but 90% is plowing through cardboard boxes for recycling.
