I've been looking at Amazon constantly for a decent looking glass foaming soap dispenser to replace my plastic ones. Noticed these were listed for $5.99 for 2 and there happened to be 5% off on the product page. Not sure if the 5% is YMMV since I purchased a couple and no longer see it. This is the cheapest I've seen. Most on Amazon tend to be at least $8+ from what I've seen for a single one.

Just for reference, a single of the same product is listed for $14.90.

Foam handsoaps don't clean dirty hands properly. Only normal (NOT antibacterial) liquid handsoaps have been shown to work. FYI

While foaming hand soaps can be effective for cleaning hands, they are not necessarily more effective than traditional liquid soaps. The foam itself doesn't directly contribute to the cleaning process; it's the soap and water combination that lifts dirt and microbes. Some studies suggest that people may wash their hands for shorter periods with foaming soap, potentially reducing its effectiveness. However, proper handwashing technique with any type of soap and water is key, ensuring thorough cleaning for at least 20 seconds.

There's no basis to this. Foaming soaps are no different from regular soap and clean just as well. They just are mixed with water in a 1:3-5 ratio. They're just more convenient.

Multiple studies show that foaming hand soap is not adequate for hand protection. Here's one of them:

I read that study. They tested it on 5 people in each test group and it seems like they washed their hands for 6 seconds. Here's a response to that same article that points out a lot of the flaws with that experiment.

Personally, I feel like that study is statistically insignificant and had difficulty finding any others against foaming soap.

If you prefer foaming hand soap, and wash your hands for the full recommended 20s or more, great. If you want to use gel, great. No need to fear monger.
