One of my college professors was in this movie. He found out students were renting it to watch his debut role until it suddenly wasn't available at Blockbuster anymore

Great family movie about summer camp.

It's about a "girl" who's trying to find her way in society through her own personal struggles. Quite inspirational the way she overcomes her hardships through summer camp.

There's love, anger, and many more emotions that she explores. Some say The Hunger Games was based off this movie.

Blockbuster had corporate guidance. Even if a local, like nearby, Blockbuster decided to do him a solid, the one 13 miles down the road would still keep renting. This was an extremely popular movie in the 80s. Your professor had no part in the airing. You could just turn on the TV and it was probably airing on Friday night. That's why it's still for sale here today.

Sleepaway Camp 2, starring Bruce Springsteen's sister, was one of my favorite movies as a kid.

Absolute horror comedy gold

It basically uses trans people as the villain - like, they heavily imply that's the reason they went crazy and murdered everyone...

Yah it's pretty messed up. I think it definitely makes for a crazy ending to a horror type of movie.

A lot of people view it as a very negative towards trans and often misogynistic. While I am against any type of negative portrayal like that, I view the movie in the context of when it came out.

Felt this movie was stupid and I dont care politically about the big plot twist one way or the other
