I'd wait for one of the frequent 49' OLED deals from Samsung - costs $100 to $150 more but much better than VA panel in this deal

It's much better in the color reproduction, but it's not much better for text rendering. It's actually quite a bit worse due to color fringing. So your use case would depend on whether you use for gaming or for office work. I have 45 inch oled gaming monitor, for office work, I will up pick VA screen any day of the week.

I also don't know many games can take advantage of this screen real estate, most of the 49-in monitors I saw are actually using office.

I am in the market for one of these 49" 1000Rs but have written this model off as there just seem to be way too many premature failures of the G95C based on reviews I have monitored over the past several months Going to hold out for the LG or the slower hz Samsung.

Comes complete with extra dust in the screen!
At least mine did. Worse than dead pixel because it was larger and right in the middle of the screen.
Samsung refused to exchange it and said I had to return it and buy another one or buy then return. Problem is I bought it via EPP and got a credit for other things at same time like a NVME drive. If I returned just the monitor I'd have had to pay for the NVMe. So I just returned everything.
Will look at other options.

it's absolutely breathtaking and immersive with games that do. Death Stranding and COE33 feel amazing. I also use it for office work 40% of the time. While it is worse than VA for office use, this feels like a great compromise for office/gaming. With games that don't support the ratio, you have black bars making it the equivalent of a 27" or 34" ultrawide 2k resolution OLED monitor.

Costco Online has the G91SD 49" QD-OLED version for $799 through May. I contemplated this but went that route.
