You ain't getting a good gaming with $800. A top of the line motherboard costs $600 plus. The CPU $300-600 and the GPU $300-3000 plus you need 32GB minimum of ram and 2-4 TB of memory to download games. The power supply 850W-1000.
This deal isn't a top mb

Frankly besides serious overclockers or want a lot more ports I just don't see spending the money there. 32 is definitely plenty of ram.

The overall point that need more than 800 bucks is correct.

Like the other person said, where are you getting a 7900 xtx for under $800. I have almost the same build with an 7800x3d and (2) 2 TB ssd's and it cost me about 3k self-built in 2023. This is cheaper and comes pre-built. The price is good, my only thing keeping me back if i needed a new machine would be i dont really like dealling with liquid cooling.
What's your concern about liquid cooling? I am planning to get a new PC this year and I actually want to get liquid cooling bc our current Alienware PC fan is so loud.

For me it's maintenance. While it's not hard, just having to do it more often than air.

I'm unaware of any compatability challenges that exist today that didn't 15 years ago.
right? just buy pre-built, besides, less troubleshooting to do.

Definitely a reason why I'm not interested. Another level of maintenance and people will forget that the liquid evaps and their goes your heat temos

You definitely do not need a $600 motherboard to get good gaming performance. Awful advice.

If you go AMD, you'll be spending $170-$250 for a motherboard that is definitely good enough for gaming in 2025.

If you got microcenter within a hour drive, their 7800x3d bundle is the way. You'll get your mobo, ram, and cpu for less than $500.

Less familiar with Intel, but I wouldn't do an Intel build if you are concerned about cost and the main thing you do is game.

Still aren't going to get everything for $800.

Ram, CPU MOBO - around $450 if you got microcenter
PSU - ~$100
graphics card - ~$500
SSD - can get around 2 TB for a little over $100 and good performance if you wait around for a deal
CPU Cooler - $40
case and Fans - I'd say around $150 total combined for case and fans

this will get you a beast of a 1440p rig that will handle anything you throw at it..
