Edit: I had used an american express gift card incase anyone wanted to know. I am attempting the other walls with my other empty prepaid gift cards. Ill report back
There are numerous items that I get free (or paid to take) at drugstores/grocery/office supply/specialty stores after coupons/recycling/rewards/rebates. I actually don't shop the "discount" stores very often, they tend to have lower everyday prices on a few things, but those items are lower priced when "on sale" at other stores for the most part.
I have some Amazon GC's in my account, in fact, I just rec'd a $50 Amazon GC that I won in a sweepstakes, so I'd really like to know- what is cheaper to buy at Amazon?
Perhaps it is just a difference in philosophy. I like to keep things simple (as well as inexpensive as possible) and rebates/coupons/store rewards while they may be simple in methodology, are typically more of a pain (for me) to deal with than just finding a good deal and having it shipped to my door. Here is a sample of how I spent $1266 in AGC's (not all from SB's) last year, at prices I thought were great deals for quality merchandise that I did not have to fill out any rebate forms for, or drive to a store, or worry about return hassles, and was in a smiling box on my doorstep within a few days:
yoga mat, phone\ipod\electronics accessories, books, XBOX Live memeberships, tri gear (goggles, bike accessories, heart rate monitors), tea, XBOX games, blu rays, bear spray, knitting needles, VFF shoes, Yamaha A/V reciever, etc
Perhaps there are some legacy issues for me as well. When I started with Swagbucks several years ago, I was lucky to get $5 a month. Most of the other sites that I work with offer Amazon gift cards as well, and if they offer paypal options at all they were always at a premium over the Amazon gift cards. It made sense to maximize my "buying power" and pool the money. Now that I can consistently get the 2250 SB's each month (usually twice that, 2012 monthly average ~4850 SB) AND the paypal is no longer at a premium on cards over $5, it is starting to make me question my SB redemption habits. I plan on building out a HTPC this year and since I don't pay tax at newegg, having some paypal cash handy might be beneficial. I can still bundle the monthly $25 from SB's with the other sites rewards, any SB' excess can be funnelled to paypal for more flexible spending options. I COULD pay the extra 250 SB's and put everything to paypal but that means that I am paying a $30+ penalty over the course of the year to get the rewards as paypal "cash". As someone that would go hungry rather than pay an ATM fee to get cash for lunch that "penalty" is something I would struggle with and probably won't do. Maybe that means I don't have my HTPC built until Thanksgiving, but thats OK for me.
A long winded answer to your response, sorry. My only goal at this point was to find out if I was going to be paying any fees associated with Paypal and it seems like that is not the case. Thank you for your input!
edit: nvm i'm dumb

A good rule of thumb to start your Swagbucks day is to first do the Daily Poll for 1 SB, then go to NOSO and follow the path (being sure to skip all the offers) until you come to the box were you have to type in what ever it tells you to type for 2 SBs. Then go to the RO wall, and see if there are any videos to watch, and the coupons.com offer to print. You don't need to chose 25 coupons, only one. I hit print preview and don't bother to print any. The reason I don't is because those are no credit coupons. if you print the coupons from the drop down menu on the front page, SBs will give you 10 SBs each when you redeem them. They are coded in such a way that the system can tell where you printed them from, and you'll get credit (maybe 7 weeks down the line). Since you can only print two of the same coupons from any single computer, don't waste prints of coupons you want on the RO wall. Pick a product you'll never use, and remember to use print preview so you don't waste ink.
Keep checking back to the front page as they add offers - usually videos or Social Vibe. When you see a red circle on the envelope at the top of the home page, check your in-box to see if the offer is one you want to complete. It's usually low value videos good for a few SBs ,but sometimes it can be a high value survey. All these little SBs start to add up.
Lots of people keep SBS TV running all day. I do. I have it on a second computer and I manually click from vid to vid. Three SBs for every 10 vids watched. It's something I do literally at the side of my desk. At the end of the day, SBs TV can make the difference in hitting your goal.
Right now you might want to check your front page, a 2 SB video is up.
You've got plenty of time; you can make that goal!
